BALLAGHBEAMA GAP FROM KENMARE
Take on the Ballaghbeama mountain pass by driving a spectacular winding, mostly single-track route starting and ending in the town of Kenmare, which overlooks pretty Kenmare Bay.
An alternative to the Ring of Kerry, there is a more isolated feel about this route, which cuts through the mountains of the Iveragh Peninsula; think rugged landscapes, flowing streams, wild heather and ancient rock art in the most rural parts of the route.
Elsewhere, there’s the chance to take in the lakes of Killarney, the mountain village of Glencar and the Killarney National Park, as well as the Reeks District, of course.
