This scenic drive makes a great day trip from the Reeks District. After driving from Killorglin to Dingle, circumnavigate the Dingle Peninsula and enjoy views of Mount Brandon, Ireland’s eighth highest peak.

Along the Slea Head Drive, you will have views of the Blasket Islands and a slightly terrifying drive along some sea cliffs and through a waterfall. (Don’t worry. It’s only a small waterfall.) Be on the lookout for beehive huts from the medieval period. You can stop at Dunmore Head and stand at the westernmost point in Ireland or see if you recognise any locations from Ryan’s Daughter as you drive through Ballyferriter.

Dingle is a cute fishing village with cafes and restaurants if you need to refuel on the way home. We highly recommend timing your journey so you can catch the sunset at Inch Beach on the way back.
