RING OF KERRY

Skirting the coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula, this 180 km long route is reputed to be one of the most beautiful drives in the world.

If you’re starting from the Reeks District, it makes sense to pick up the Ring of Kerry in Killorglin or Glenbeigh and then simply follow the N70 counterclockwise.

Along the way, this route takes in rolling green hills, rural seaside villages and towering cliffs, with a rugged mountain view never too far away. There are many highlights on a trip around the ring: the market town of Killorglin, the coastal village of Glenbeigh or the panoramic views of the Dingle Peninsula from Cahersiveen and the Beara Peninsula from Caherdaniel.

Don’t miss a chance to explore offshoots of the route, including Skellig Michael, a rocky island that is home to an abandoned 7th-century monastery, both a Unesco World Heritage Site and a location for two of the Star Wars movies.
