If you’re looking for fine-dining in Kerry or anywhere along the Wild Atlantic Way for that matter, look no further than Reeks District.

Here are five fabulous options with spectacular views for you to chose from!

1. Ard na Sidhe Country House Hotel

The Ard na Sidhe is hidden away on the south eastern corner of Caragh Lake, set in spectacular gardens with amazing views of Seefin and the Slieve Mish.

It’s one of our favourite fine dining restaurants in the area and, as it’s just a short ten minute stroll from Caragh Lake House, we regularly recommend it to our guests. Delicious food, fabulous setting and excellent service. There are a limited number of tables so you should definitely book early.

You can also just pop in and have a walk around the gardens or afternoon tea – a real treat.

2. Dunloe Castle Hotel & Gardens

The Ard na Sidhe’s sister hotel, The Dunloe offers spectacular views of the Gap of Dunloe and McGillycuddy’s Reeks.

As it only re-opened in 2018 after an extensive refurb, I haven’t yet had a chance to dine there but it is firmly on my bucket list and I’ll be sure to update this post when I have.

Overlooking the mountains it’s the perfect setting after you’ve conquered the Ring of the Reeks or climbed Carrauntoohil.

3. Carrig Country House & Restaurant

On the northern shore of Caragh Lake, Carrig House is a fine-dining restaurant with spectacular views of the lake, Glencar in the distance and Seefin to the west (see header photo above).

With beautiful evening light, an open fire and piano or harp playing in the background, it’s a fantastic fine dining experience all-round. Delicious food and excellent service.

Why not wander up when you’re out paddle boarding or kayaking on the lake to have a look? Pure luxury a la Reeks District!

4. Jack’s Coastguard Restaurant

If you’re looking for a fine-dining experience over-looking the Atlantic Ocean, Jack’s Coastguard Restaurant is a must. With large windows facing Inch and Rossbeigh, it is a stunning spot, especially when you catch the sun setting out over the Dingle Peninsula.

Their fresh mussels, crab claws, Cromane Oysters, black sole (my personal favourite) or wild salmon (when in season) are hard to beat. Service is superb!

There’s a lovely pub at the front – one of my favourite. Perfect for popping in after a sea kayaking trip for that well-deserved pint! The ideal opportunity to take a look and make your reservation for later that evening.

5. Private Dining

Last but not least, if you’re looking for a fabulous setting and fine dining in total comfort and privacy, you can arrange for the team at Just Cooking to come to you.

It’s a great experience, whether you’re staying at our luxury lakefront home, Churchtown House or one of the other holidays homes in the region. After a day’s activity, there’s nothing quite like coming home to a delicious fine dining experience with everything taken care of.

Do make sure to book before your trip.

With these and many other great places to eat that satisfy all pockets and tastes, you know what to do. #comeandplay
