Hazelfort Visitor Farm
Hazelfort Visitor Farm is right on the Ring of Kerry, near Beaufort. This all-weather facility offers fun for all the family.
Pride of place on the farm goes to Big Bertha, the late Jerome O’Leary’s cow, a double Guinness World Record holder, who lived to the ripe old age of 48 years and produced 39 calves.
Take a one kilometre tour around the farm on their purpose-built passenger trailer. The tour takes you to a third century ring and provides superb views of the 12th century Ballymalis Castle. Travel through fields and woodland, and alongside the River Laune. Meet their native rare-breed herd of Kerry cattle, Babe the pot-bellied pig, as well as horses, donkeys, sheep and goats.
For those who like ‘hands-on’ experiences, have a go at the age-old skill of milking, thanks to Daisy, the interactive cow. Test your skills by trying out their Volvo hydraulically-operated mini diggers – fun for children and adults alike!
