Climbing

LICKEEN

The landscape in Lickeen presents an opportunity to climb in a tranquil forest setting. There are climbing spots in Castlerock and nearby along the Kerry Way.

These locations are further away from civilisation than climbs in areas like the Gap of Dunloe, so rock climbing routes in Lickeen are like a local secret and there is a lot of potential for new routes to be discovered in this area. Castlerock alone has a mix of E3, E4 and ungraded routes. The experience of climbing in Lickeen is unique.

The forestry is nearly like that of a rainforest and is a Special Area of Conservation that is home to a mix of native trees, flora and fauna.
