Irish history
Killaclohane Wood outside the town is home to a heart-shaped boulder called the Mass Rock that was once used for ancient fertility and feminine rites ceremonies.
Botanical gardens
Described as ‘Kerry’s botanical garden’, Dhu Varren Garden contains one of the largest and most diverse plant collections of any private garden in Ireland.
Portal Tombs
Milltown is home to three neolithic portal tombs that are about 6,000 years old, one which has been excavated by archaeologists.
