STRICKEEN WALK
This route will bring you up Strickeen, a smaller peak that overlooks a mountain pass carved by glaciers. Even as you’re just starting to walk uphill, you will already be presented with a vantage of the Gap of Dunloe with its little road winding around lakes through a corridor in the mountains.
Further up, Lough Leane will come into view and then Killorglin with the Slieve Mish Mountains and the sweep of the harbour between them.
Finally, you will find yourself looking right into the Hag’s Glen which is enclosed by MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, including Carrauntoohil.
