THE TWO BALLAGHS
This route is the ultimate cycle ride in Kerry, if not the whole of Ireland, combining as it does the Ring of the Reeks with the Oisin Pass route for a full day’s cycling aimed at serious enthusiasts.
In total, the route covers 170km passing through some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery and climbing and descending through four stupendously challenging mountain passes, Ballaghasheen Pass, Ballaghbeama Gap, Moll’s Gap and The Gap of Dunloe.
Along the way, there are craggy mountain peaks, glacial lakes, rural pastures and raging rivers, while the final push is along the expanse of the Atlantic, as it stretches across the bay to the Dingle Peninsula.
