Glenbeigh Races
People gather for the Glenbeigh Festival and Races to see horse racing on Rossbeigh Strand, but the festival also includes plenty of other family-friendly events and is famous for the craic.
The horses do look especially majestic as they gallop across the sand with the waves crashing and the Dingle Peninsula stretching into the Atlantic in the background, so the races are entertaining even for those not usually interested in the sport.
The village comes alive with music and dancing, drawing people from the surrounding countryside for the donkey derby or the tractor lawnmower race. There is also plenty on offer to keep kids happy, like a fancy dress parade and a dog show.

Horse Racing on Rossbeigh Strand
A number of horse and pony races take place on the beach.
The Craic
Donkey derbies, tractor races, grown men dressed as nuns jumping over bales of hay. Why? For the craic. That's why.
Live Music
Hear traditional Irish music in the marquee near the beach. Follow the music trail from pub to pub. Enjoy the open-air concert in the village centre.
Activities for Kids
There are always plenty of activities at the festival to entertain kids, from bouncy castles, face-painting, a fancy dress parade, a dog show, or if all else fails, ice cream.
